Re: Julian Dicks
I was at that debt away game.
He seemed like he wanted a row that day.
That poor cunt he hit with the tackle screamed and from where we were it looked like he ended up in the stands.
My favourite player at that time, never forget the perry groves thing as well. That was proper funny.
Shocking haircut though.

Re: Julian Dicks
I’m sure I remember him clattering someone and then just walking off the pitch? Swindon away maybe?

Re: Julian Dicks
Great player, a shame two serious knee injuries ended his career in his late 20’s. Still remember watching on ITV the tackle against Derby’s Ted McMinn!

Loved him as a player, think he’s a simpleton though

Re: Julian Dicks
They say don't meet your heroes but I have had the pleasure of meeting Frankie Mac, Sir Trev and Dicksy and they were all great and loved the Club unlike some of the charlatans today. I think it was Tony Gale who said if we had Dicksy at left back in 85-86 we would have won the League.

Free Kick against Derby in the League Cup

Free Kick away to Forest

At Stamford Bridge responding to boo-boys after scoring a header

Final game of season v Cambridge with his mazy run on the left wing to setup up Clive Allen and secure automatic promotion.

Happy Birthday and thanks for the memories!

Re: Julian Dicks
His penalty equaliser against Man Utd in the 2-2 draw when we came back from 0-2 down was a moment I'll never forget.

I'd hazard a guess that was one of the hardest penalties ever struck. Schmeichel barely moved, and said as much afterwards.

Re: Julian Dicks
Recall away at Leicester David Kelly was getting some stick from our lot and rub his fingers together on coming over to our side which i presumed stating he made some money from his move. Maybe not related but I like to think it was inside 5 minutes Dicks tackled him so hard with such a thud that the noise was a like bomb going off leaving him half dead on the floor.

I can still hear it now.

Re: Julian Dicks
An excellent left back, sweet left foot and a totally committed West Ham man. Loved him when he pulled on the shirt. Blood, guts and no shortage of skill. Should have had England caps, but scared the living daylights out of the FA.

(The less said about his coaching role the better.)

But a top Hammer.

Happy 50th fella.

Re: Julian Dicks
Even the tea lady wanted him gone.
Sympathetic to the bond scheme protesters
Elbowing Franz Carr
Dancing around with a leg in plaster on a plane to oz
Penalty against Man Utd
2 goals against Spurs when Hartson/kitson started
Left peg sweet as.

Re: Julian Dicks
Incredible left foot and his dedication to the club was brilliant.

Was gutted when we sold him to liverpool and silly now when you think of the money players go for, that I cant help thinking it was just a million and marsh and burrows or something crazy.

Will always be my favourite, though not hard considering I rarely give a fuck about players nowadays, as they couldn't be any different to the fans these days.

Re: Julian Dicks
He was the bollocks. Sure we all loved him as the terminator,
(just as Perry Groves ) but he was so skilful along with it.

Real privalage to see him play.
